  摘 要:当前大学英语教学的难点之一是如何从传统纯原语语言的教学切换到从英文原语跨越到汉语目的语的文化内涵思政拓展教学,很多教师在找到大学英语教学中思政教育的切入口之后却难以进一步拓展。本文以课文教学个案为例,提出突破难点的关键在于教师拓展知识面、更深入研究原语与目的语文化,以实现新时代大学英语教学兼顾思政教育的育人目标。

  长期以来,在大学英语教学中,教师往往专注于同义词汇解析及举例、长难句语法结构分析、作文层次衔接技巧、阅读技巧、英汉双语翻译技巧等,而对教材中出现的明显可以对学生进行思政教育的地方往往一语带过。学生大多只专注于大量做题,专攻技巧,以图早日过级。针对上述现象,笔者认为,在英语学习的过程中,教师不应轻易放过语言学习与思政教育的结合,既教书还要育人,最终实现双赢。
  下面以《新视野大学英语读写教程2》中一篇课文的教学为例,探索如何找到大学英语课程思政教学的切入角度,如何从传统纯语言的学习切换到思政内容的教学。
  一、传统注重语言点的教学思路:忽视文化内涵思政拓展
  《新视野大学英语读写教程2》第五单元课文“Spend or save?——The student's dilemma”第三段片段如下:
  The paradox is that every day we get two sets of messages at odds with each other.One is the “permissive” perspective, “Buy, spend, get it now. You need this!” The other we could call an “upright” message, which urges us, “Work hard and save. Suspend your desires. Avoid luxuries. Control your appetite for more than you truly need.” This message comes to us from many sources: from school, from parents, even from political figures referring to “traditional values”. Hard work, family loyalty, and the capacity to postpone desires are core American values that have made our country great.
  传统语言点语法结构分析:This message comes to us from many sources: from school, from parents, even from political figures [referring to “traditional values”]. 中括号部分为现在分词短语作后置定语,修饰前面的“political figures”。接下来提问“这个句子如何改写,且意思不变?”,学生根据讲解的提示用一个定语从句来改写:
  We get this kind of message from many sources such as school, parents, and even politicians who like to talk about traditional values.
  然后,再针对句子中的短语作讲解及举例:
  refer to: mention or speak about sb. or sth.提到……;谈到……
  Although she didn't mention any names, everyone knew who she was referring to.
  传统注重语言点的教学并不涉及上述“traditional values(传统价值观)”的具体文化内涵,因为传统教学只侧重知识的传授与熟练掌握,忽视对学生进行思政教育,其结果必然是知识技能数量的增长、熟练程度和反应速度的提高,而思政教育注重的是人的思想品德的形成。传统教学中,思政内涵所占的比例过小,甚至为零。总之,传统注重语言点的教学思路,使部分教师缺乏对“教书育人”的正确认识,造成“只教书不育人”或“不会育人”的后果;或是认为大学生践行社会主义核心价值观教育只是思想政治理论课教师的事,或是辅导员、班主任的事。事实上,教师不断拓展原语与目的语文化知识面,完全可以达成大学英语思政教学的目标。
  二、充分利用教材英文原语资源导入文化内涵思政拓展
  There is no official list of traditional values, but some of them are:individual freedom and self-reliance;equality of opportunity and competition,material wealth and hard work;importance of family.
  以上為教材第119页以“culture notes(文化注释)”方式提供的英文原语“traditional values(传统价值观)”的相关文化内涵知识,即个人自由(individual freedom)、自立(self-reliance)、机会均等及平等竞争(equality of opportunity and competition)、物质财富(material wealth)、勤奋(hard work)、注重家庭(importance of family)。
