　　教材分析：本单元的Reading是关于环境问题的一个电视辩论的开头部分。以Reading Strategy为线索，让学生学会如何阅读辩论题材的文章。在介绍辩论环节及要素的同时，让学生理解两位专家的看法，加强他们的阅读理解能力。
　　教学目标：
　　1.对全文大意作整体理解；
　　2.掌握本课的重点单词与词组；
　　3.找出各段的主题句并归纳出本文的中心思想，提高运用英语的综合能力。
　　教学重难点：
　　1.如何利用略读、查读等阅读技巧和识别关键词、确定主题句、预测等阅读微技形成阅读策略。
　　2.如何帮助学生运用阅读策略，促进学生自主学习。
　　教学过程：
　　Step1 ：Warming up.
　　1.Look around， and find out some phenomenons to damage our environment.
　　设计意图：让学生学会发现生活的污染问题，然后讨论解决方法。锻炼学生的观察，收集材，料的能力，激发了参与学习过程的热情和竞争意识，为学生在生活如何做才能保护环境有所思考。
　　Step2 ：Presentation （导入）杰克逊的地球之歌）.
　　Watch a mv . Divide the whole class into a number of groups. They need to find two answers：
　　设计意图：《地球之歌》导入，学生观看歌曲视频中我们地球发生的变化，并查找发生这些变化的原因，对文章中环境污染的因素也有所了解，然后思考如何解决问题，為后面的快速阅读和讨论环节作铺垫。
　　Step3：Fast reading（泛读）.
　　1. Read the following debate as quickly as possible and answer the questions：
　　（1）What side does Mr Lin Shuiqing and Mr Qian Liwei each represent？
　　（2）By how many times has the world’s population increased since 1800？
　　设计意图：小组合作完成快速找出双方所代表的辩论方，快速限时阅读，找出每一段学生对于中心句和关键词的把握。检查学生对课文中的事实的表层理解，养成良好的阅读习惯，提高阅读技能。
　　Step4 ：Careful reading（精读）.
　　1.Listen the text and Get the students to read the reading passage reading passage again more carefully and find the main idea of each paragraph.
　　（1）.What does Lin Shuiqing started his speech by talking about？
　　（2）.What is happening to large amounts of fish？
　　（3）.What does Lin Shuiqing think we should teach people about？
　　（4）What does Qian Liwei say we should produce more？
　　（5）.What does Qian Liwei say we need more of？
　　设计意图：同组的学生互相配合，分工合作，交流意见，最终确定辩论双方观点，理清文章的内容。在阅读过程中，教师鼓励学生自己发现文章中的疑难点（包括部分生词），并通过小组合作，解决疑难点。
　　Step5 ：Discussion（讨论）.
　　Give four questions.
　　1. Where have you seen pollution？ How did it make you feel？
　　2. What do you think is the biggest danger to our environment today？
　　3.After reading two opinions on two sides， what’s your opinion？
　　4.What can we do in our daily life in order to protect the environment？
　　设计意图：强化了记忆的效果，使知识逐步转化为技能和能力。学生将所领会到的知识、技能运用到另一个情景中去，通过交际学会交际。使学生能鲜明地感受到学习的意义，显示了学以致用的功效。
　　Step6：Assignment（作业）.
　　1.Use the following guide to write a composition about.
　　2.Writing.
　　目前城市的垃圾污染日益严重，危害着人类的身体健康。请就此问题展开讨论，并写一份计划书，提出合理化建议。
　　（1）可进行垃圾分类，（2）报纸，玻璃的再利用，（3）有害垃圾填埋，（4）废水处理，（5）立法，（6）加大宣传，，增强环保意识。
　　Step7：Blackboard design （板书设计）（略）。
